Management of the University of Ghana is urging the UGSRC Electoral Commission to comply with the directives of the Judicial Board and rerun the elections at Akuafo and Sarbah hall polling stations.
This was made known to the ECs during a stakeholders engagement meeting held on Wednesday, 15th December, 2021 with the Dean of Students Affairs.
The essence of the meeting was to finalize the transition roadmap.
Stakeholders present at the meeting included; the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Bokpin, Acting Dean of Students Affair, Dr. Wiafe-Akenten(acted in the absence of Prof Bokpin), Presidential candidates and their running mates (Prince Asumadu, Wisfom Ndukwe, Samuel Ofosu, Alfred Acquah), the three Electoral Commissioners, the Chief Justice of the Judicial Board, and some members of the SRC EXECOM.
The communication was that the Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Academic and Student Affairs had reached a consensus for the Judicial Board ruling to be adhered to.
That is a rerun of elections at Mensah Sarbah and Akuafo Hall polling stations for level 200 and 300 students who were residents of these halls as of October 2021.
