The University of Ghana Sports Directorate in a partnership with the Career and Counseling Center has held a seminar under the theme Prospect Careers in sports at the University of Ghana Central Cafeteria.
The program was aimed at at developing the sports personalities of the students athletes and enhance their preparation for the 2022 GUSA Games in Kumasi.
Speaking at the event, member of the sports management, Dr. Micheal Owusu Ansah said the directorate has a partnership with the Career and Counseling Center to aid the management of sports on campus.
Guest Speaker Rev. Anthony Amponsah urged the athletes to frequently visit the University of Ghana Career and Counseling Center when they are facing psychological problems.
Sometimes most sports people are considered least in the society but they have the more money.
If you really go to the national level, they get money a lot, but the truth is many times, people consider them as antisocial, people with bad character, people with issues, those in football are all considered as outcast but i don’t see that in you.
what I suggest is that, from today until we start the competition, The UGCC i personally guarantee for all of you in the name of my Director. if you something runs through your mind, like people see you and they belittle because you are not so much of academics, that’s why you are into sports or sometimes there are troubles at home.
If there’s anybody going through something that will bring down your spirit, just walk to the center.
Some athletes who spoke to UniversSports after the event were confident that the program will help develop their career.
