Google Adsense removes Western Union as payment method in Ghana
The World’s largest search engine has unfortunately removed Ghana’s preferred Adsense payment method, Western Union for Google Adsense publishers in the country.
Western Union (WU) over the 13 years in partnership with Google Adsense has been most of Ghanaian publishers payment alternative to Bank transfer for withdrawing their monthly earnings.
However, that does not mean publishers with ads on their website will not receive monthly earnings through Western Union from now, the American multinational technology company in its statement said users will as of August 10, 2020, will no longer be able to pick WU as a form of payment.
Explaining further Google said users who have already selected Western Union as a payment option will have to choose another method to receive earnings before it stop payment through the Service early next year.
The management of Google Adsense added it will inform users in advance as to when Western Union can no longer be used to receive payment in their country.
Right now, Georgeweb.org can confirm that Google has removed Western Union as a payment method in Ghana for Google Adsense publishers.
How to change set up your form of payment for AdSense
As stated by Google Adsense, publishers can only add a payment method when an earnings threshold is reached.
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- Click Payments.
- Click Manage payment methods.
- Click Add payment method.
- In the “Add a payment method” section, enter your bank account information.
- If you want this to be your primary form of payment, select the Set as primary payment method checkbox.
- Click Save.
