MoH granted clearance to employ 18,445 Nurses & Midwives

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has granted the Ministry of Health (MoH) financial clearance to employ 18,445 Health Professionals who are yet to be posted to various facilities across the country as indicated below;

The Finance Ministry in a statement copied to Georgeweb.org indicated that the documents of personnel should be charged against the compensation of employees vote of the Ministry of Health (MoH) in the 2021 annual estimates.

It also directed the Health Ministry to ensure that the health professionals have their documents processed in time and placed on the Mechanized Payroll to enable the Controller and Accountant -General’s Department effect payment of their salaries.

The Ministry of Finance said the effective date of the appointed person should not be earlier than April 1, 2020.

The Controller and Accountant-General is requested to effect the payment of their salaries and make appropriate deductions of Social Security and Security and Income Tax to SSNIT and the Domestic Tax Division of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) respectively.

“Health Professional is to note that the clearance expires on December 31, 2021, and cannot be used thereafter”, the statement added.
