The non-profit-making organization (WAEC) has reopened the Private BECE registration portal for eligible and qualified candidates to register for the BECE for Private Candidates examination scheduled for February 2021.
According to WAEC, students of 16 years and candidates who previously sat for the BECE for School Candidates but could not pass or make the required grades are eligible to sit for the BECE for Private Candidates examination.
Failed BECE candidates are required to provide index number for the last sitting and the year of the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
First-time sitters of the private examination must be 16 years and above and are required to provide his/her date of birth during the registration.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in a blogpost sighted by Georgeweb.org on its website has indicated the entry period is from October to November and registration is strictly done online.
