UG Pent hostel to open room application portal by Friday

The University of Ghana, Legon (UG) Pentagon Hostel room application portal after challenges on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, will be opened by Friday, August 21, 2020, for students, the Ghana Hostels Limited (GHL) has said.
The room application portal which was scheduled to open on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, for students to apply for rooms did not open amid some challenges facing the hall.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Hostels Limited, Dr Kissi in an interview with UniversNews monitored by Georgeweb.org noted that the hostel management is ready for students to apply for rooms but external factors, unfortunately, have delayed the process since Tuesday.
According to the CEO, the room application portal cannot be opened if measures are not put in place, he added that “management is hoping that by Friday, all these challenges will be solved”.
“Today, infact unfortunately no, that is not to say that we are not ready, we are absolutely ready. We have external partners we work with like the banks and all that. So we are trying to get things ready to make sure that once we take off, there’s no hindrance and we are moving straight. So we are ready but hopefully before the end of the week and the week ends on Friday. We apologize for not being able to start today not because we deliberately did that but we’re just treating all the very important phases,” he said.
Dr Kissi indicated that details on opening date and time of the room application portal will be communicated to students across the various Pent Junior Common Room (JCR) platforms and will be announced on Radio Univers 105.7FM as well.
“Basically, we will make use of their JCR platform and then definitely we will be at your end to affirm our decisions. So we will use multiple means of reaching out to students” he added.
