The Country’s Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has said there has not been a single demonstration or strike by the teacher unions since he took over as the Minister of Education for at least four years now.

The Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency announced this achievement speaking to the Volta Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Teachers’ Network in Ho on Sunday 11th October 2020.

According to him, unlike the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has in four years now serve teachers in the country better with good educational policies.

“Today, I won’t talk about what we have done in education, I’ll talk about what we have done with teaching and teachers.

“And I would like those who claim they are Professors and held the Ministry for four years before I got there, to sit by me so we could count our achievements one by one,” Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh challenged.

NAPO further said “for four years, there have not been a teacher demonstration or strike; that in itself, should send NDC into the bush”.
