Indisciplined parents to be blamed for WASSCE candidates insults – Obour

Ghanaian Musician cum Politician, Bice Osei Kufour, widely known as Obour has attributed the misconduct and indiscipline acts of some WASSCE candidates in viral videos to parents bad upbringing of their wards.
Early last week, some final year students of the Kumawu-based Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School partaking WASSCE after writing the theory aspect of Integrated Science protested against their headmaster for his strict invigilation, an act they believe will make them score F9 and fail.
In another video sighted by GeorgeWeb, a final year students of the Sekondi College was seen using abusive words on the President with reasons best known to them, a boy in the filming the tape rained insults on Akufo-Addo.
In an Interview with Amansan Krakye on GBC Radio Central reacting to the videos, Obour said “social media is both a blessing and a curse so now it’s like everybody is having their TV station on their phones. So whatever they want the world to see they just record it for the world to watch.”
“As for discipline, it is something that our authorities struggle to implement. But today there are schools which prohibits students from bringing mobile phone to school.”
Speaking further he said “some parents also will claim that they want to communicate with their wards so they will defy such directives. So where we find ourselves right now it’s a combination of both”.
“Indiscipline on the part of the children and some on the parents and also the advent of social media sensationalism that has brought us these kinds of challenges”, the politician added.
