Close down the schools – Teacher Unions tells Govt
As the locally transmitted coronavirus cases keep skyrocketing in SHSs, the four recognized pre-tertiary education unions have unanimously asked the government to close down schools before another pandemic hits various Senior High Schools.
The four teacher unions in a joint statement copied to Georgeweb.org said the conditionalities for the re-opening of the schools have been disregarded and “either limited or just not there”.
The unions are the Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union, National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (CCT-GH).
The teachers in the statement said “”In the light of the above. We the Pre-tertiary Teacher Unions-GNAT NAGRAT TEWU, CCT-GH have no option than to ask that the schools be closed down”.
