Ghanaian female Gospel musician, Evangelist Diana Asamoah has said all students currently in school would have turned armed robbers if not for the implementation of the Akufo-Add government’s Free SHS programme.
The Ahene mu Ahene and Awurade Tie hitmaker made the comment on the Saturday’s edition of the United Television (UTV) United showbiz with host-actress Nana Ama Mcbrown monitored by Georegeweb.org.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in September 2017 introduced the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) to enable candidates who will be successful at BECE get their secondary education fees absorbed by the government.
The musician speaking on the popular entertainment show commended the President and his government’s for introducing the Free SHS, for which she said if not all students currently in school would become armed robbers.
However, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a musician who was also a guest on the show registered disagreement with the comment passed on by Evangelist Diana Asamoah.
According to Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, it will be unfair to say all the beneficiaries of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) would have turned armed robbers should the NPP government not implement the policy.
The Akokofunu hitmaker admitted the fact that some would have turned into bad nuts in the society but not all of them as his colleague claims.
The female Gospel maestro despite the correction still insisted that all beneficiaries of the policy would have become thugs.
