The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) invites application from qualified interested applicants to apply as an Examiner to partake in the marking of national examination scripts (WASSCE, BECE, GBCE or ABCE)

However, to be a qualified as WASSCE, GBCE or ABCE examiner, one must have a University degree in the subject he or she wants to mark and must have taught the subject for at least three years in the country.

To apply as a Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) examiner, the minimum academic qualification is the Post-Secondary Teachers’ Certificate

The non-profit-making organization expects interested persons with the aforementioned qualification and experience to apply for the appointment on approved application forms which can be obtained at www.waecgh.org.

According to the Council, completed application forms are received any time but an appointment to be an examiner depends on the vacancy for the position in the subject area of the applicant’s choice.

Interested applicants are required to send in only one application since qualified persons who are not appointed in a particular year may be considered in subsequent years if there are vacancies.
