This article features a comprehensive step by step guide for staff and retirees on how to access the Ghana Education Service (GES) occupational pension scheme.
A. Obtain a claim form from the GLICO pension/Union office or the Ghana Education Office (GES) office for completion.
B. Complete the claim form and add all required documents and submit them to GES “supervisor” (Headmaster/District or Circuit supervisor or for TEWU, HR officer, Accountant/Senior Staff) for endorsement.
C. After that GES supervisor will receive and also endorses the form and return to member.
A. Submit endorse form and along with required documents to Union Office for onward submission to GESOPS
B. Union Office receives claim documents and forward them to GESOPS Secretariate for further processing.
A. GESOPS Secretariat receives claim documents and reviews them for completeness and accuracy
B. GLICO pensions receives claim documents; process claim and submits benefit requisition slip to GESOPS Secretariate for Authorization for payments.
A. GESOPS Secretariat receives benefit requisition slip and issues authorization notice to the custodian to pay the beneficiary.
B. Custodian recieves authorization note, transfer beneficiary amount into beneficiary’s account and issues proof of payment to GESOPS Secretariate.
A. GESOPS Secretariat receives proof of payment and informs GLICO pensions via email.
B. GLICO pensions receives email from GESOPS Secretariat and inform beneficiary via SMS alert.
