The Management of Accra-based Wisconsin International University College (WIUC) says it will this academic year organise free intensive extra classes for both gold and green track free Senior High School students in the country
Prof Obeng Mireku, the President of the private university who announced this at the university’s 18th Matriculation Ceremony held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, said the classes form part of the university’s social responsibility.
Speaking at the university’s Matriculation Ceremony, Professor Mireku said “The Centre will commence free extra classes for Free SHS students on the double-track system who will be taught by experts and examiners.”
Established in January 2000, Wisconsin International University College, Ghana is one of the earliest private universities in Ghana. It is located at Agbogba Junction near Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
Meanwhile, the Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has refuted a report on various social media platforms indicating the date for green and gold track system students to report to school has been extended.
GES in a statement copied to EducationWeb.com.gh said first-year or Form 1 Gold track students will resume school on Monday, October 11, 2021. and Form 2 Green track students on Saturday, October 30, 2021, to start academic work.
“Form 1 Gold students resumed school today October 11, 2021and Form 2 Green students are expected to resume on Saturday, October 30, 2021, as indicated on the 2021 academic calendar,” the Education Service stated in the release.
The Service has urged the Management of the public Senior High Schools in the country to stick to the 2021 SHS academic calendar submitted to them on June 30, 2021, and circulated the same to staff and students.
