We’ll maintain payment of nursing, teacher trainees allowances – NDC

According to the leadership of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), they will maintain the payment of nursing and teacher trainees allowances should John Mr Mahama be declared the President in 2021.
The John Mahama party giving highlights of its 2020 manifesto promised it “Will maintain the status quo with regards to the payment of allowances for teacher and nursing trainees”
It added that “Will also abolish the one-year compulsory national service and teacher licensure examinations for graduates of the Colleges of Education”.
And also “restore automatic employment of newly trained teachers. Provide free tertiary education for persons with disabilities. Support tertiary institutions to invest in a virtual infrastructure,”

The running mate of NDC’s flagbearer, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang announced the next NDC administrations will absorb fifty per cent of fees for tertiary students for the 2020/2021 academic year amid the negative effect of the global coronavirus pandemic on the country’s economy.
