The Association at its National Council Meeting held at KNUST in Kumasi indicated professional teachers would receive an amount of GH₵ 1,200.00 and Non-professional teachers GH₵ 800.00 respectively.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the GNAT had said it is considering a reduction of the interest rate on loans offered by the Teachers Fund of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).
GNAT’s Fund Board Chairman speaking at the meeting disclosed the Fund has about 215,003 members and estimated over GH₵ 1.5bn as at December last year.
The Board furthered that consultations are underway for a reduction in the interest rate on Teachers Fund loans.
Commenting on the recent signed Condition of Service between the teacher unions and government, GNAT said it will in due course print and distribute a copy to all staff of the Ghana Education Service who are its members.
