Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council demands immediate closure of Bright SHS
The leadership of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council has requested the immediate closure of the Koforidua-based Bright Senior High School amid misconduct and indiscipline act of students of the school.
The Council’s call for the immediate closure of the Senior High School (SHS) comes after the Proprietor of the school reportedly instigated an attack on WAEC officials leading to the injury of a journalist.
The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) following their misconduct has moved them to another examination centre under strict security to ensure life’s and property are protected.
However, the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in a statement dated Monday, August 10, 2020, copied to GeorgeWeb has demanded the closure of the school on its land.
“The Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council is most concerned with the fact of the abuse and degradation of its young mind, and regrettably is unable to tolerate this situation,” the statement said.
“The Council finds the liberal attitude of public authorities on this matter as a radical deviation from the responsible attitude in terms of enforcement of public policy,” it added.
