SLTF begins distribution of HP laptops to beneficiaries
The Management of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) as part of efforts to support its beneficiaries who are mainly students to participate in online learning programmes amid COVID-19 has begun distribution of HP laptops
According to the Trust Fund, more than 30,000 Ghanaian students who have opted for virtual learning due to the temporal nationwide schools’ closure and the outbreak of the global pandemic are beneficiaries of its loans.
“Our mandate is to ensure that students are provided with the necessary financial and other resources which would enable them to pursue their tertiary education smoothly”, SLTF CEO, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah said.
The Chief Executive Officer added that “Since the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted academic work, we needed to explore ways in which we could support our students to make life a little easier for them,”
Mr Dan Tawiah, the Disbursement Manager of the SLTF, however, indicated that students who are receiving financial assistance from the SLTF can request that a portion of their loan is used to provide them with a laptop.
“The good thing about the scheme is that students can get a high-end HP laptop now, without paying upfront,” he said as quoted by ModernGhana.
