Seven out of 12 Ghanaian nurses in Barbados recover from COVID-19
According to the Barbados Acting Chief Medical Officer, Seven out of the 12 Ghanaian nurses who tested positive for COVID-19 upon their arrival in Bridgetown, the capital of the Caribbean nation late July have recovered.
Dr Kenneth George furthered that the remaining five are still receiving treatment at Harrison Point, St Lucy, while another who tested positive for Malaria has been discharged.
The Acting Chief Medical Officer says all the nurses are believed to “have completed three consecutive weeks of quarantine and have been declared COVID-19 free by the Ministry of Health and Wellness” .
Dr George noted the Ghanaian nurses had moved out of the quarantine centre to a private residence adding that the process of orientation and registration with the Barbados Nursing Council had commenced.
