Check how much Govt spends on one pack of ‘hot meal’

The Akufo-Addo government is reportedly spending at least GHC 3.50 for one pack of hot meal per head, the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme, Dr Gertrude Quashigah has disclosed.
The National Coordinator speaking on Adom TV’s The Big Agenda, August 26, 2020, monitored by Georgeweb.org indicated the amount covers the meal, water and its related expenses both for pupils and teachers.
“It covers waakye plus one egg, boiled yams with nkotomire stew, or banku and can of sardines; as well as the food pack, tissue, rubbish clearing and other services to be all borne from the GHC 3.50”, she told Nana Ampofo.
The National Executive Director of GNACOPS, Mr Enock Kwasi Gyetuah in the interview raised concerns of the late arrival of meals in some schools adding that others have so far been served not a single hot or cold meal.
