3 year old Lois Quayson and her family are calling on the benevolent support of donors help treat her cancer.
The little girl suffers from Cancer of the blood (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) and is currently on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Her family explain things have become hard as her treatment demands buying a lot of drugs just to sustain her.
Being on admission since August 2020, they say that things are rather deteriorating than getting better as the disease brings in new forms of treatment everyday.
For the past three months, little Lois has been on oxygen support at a cost of 10 Ghana Cedis per day. Aside this, she has different medications going on at the same time just to give life support.
Father of the girl, Mr. Isaac Quayson explains; “As it stands now, we buy drugs almost everyday. We are told there is some bacteria (candida) in her blood stream. That’s what is really worrying the child now”
He adds this has caused a discontinuation of her chemotherapy treatment whiles sadly drugs needed to treat these bacteria according to doctors can be purchased overseas.
With visible signs of pain showing on the face of Lois, she’ll need a total of 40, 000 Ghana Cedis to undergo two operations.
Championing the cause for her treatment, an organization, Make A Life Foundation, has started a campaign to raise funds for her treatment.
The organization through it’s representatives reached out to the family over the weekend to support the family with an amount if 3000 Ghana Cedis from proceeds gathered so far, to help absorb treatment costs that have caught up with the family, creating a pool if arrears and adding to the hardship of upkeep.
Praying for and thanking benevolent supporters for the support, Mr. Isaac Quayson, called on donors to help the family go through these tough times they find themselves in.
Donations can be sent via mobile money to representatives of Make A Life Foundation through the lines 0246007510 (Michael Acheampong) or 0508468936 (Micah Acheampong).
