Final year JHS students and staff ‘hot meal’ menu out
The Ghana School Feeding Program (GFSP) under the auspices of the Ministry of Gender has released a menu for the preparation of ‘hot meals’ each day for final year JHS students and staff across the country.
President Akufo-Addo in his 15th televised nation’s address instructed the Gender Ministry to ensure that all staff and BECE candidates currently in school are given one hot meal each day from August 24 until the end of the BECE for School Candidates in September 18, 2020.
Nana Akufo-Addo noted his decision follows reports that students were going hungry as a result of complying with the COVID-19 safety protocols in schools.
Currently, 584,000 BECE candidates are in various Junior High Schools waiting to sit for their final examination scheduled for September 14, 2020, until September 18, 2020.
The Ministry of Gender in line with His Excellency Akufo-Addo has released a menu for the preparation of the free meal starting August 24. According to the menu, an egg must be provided with all food being served.

According to the Ministry, food must be packed in a takeaway pack with one (1) sachet water, spoon and tissue. Caterers are instructed to provide trash bag for children for children to put used packs in.
