2020 Election: Akufo-Addo declares December 7 as public holiday
The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo following a petition by the Electoral Commission has declared December 7, 2020, which is the Election Day as a public holiday.
The President’s spokesperson in a statement copied to Georgeweb.org said this is to ensure smooth conduct of the 2020 polls and for voters observe the COVID-19 safety protocols to slow the spread.

The statement, however, indicated Friday, December 4, 2020, will not be observed as a public holiday.
