Ghanaian students from Russia test positive for COVID-19

President of the National Union of Students in Russia says some Ghanaian students who just arrived in Ghana from the transcontinental country has reportedly tested positive for the locally transmitted coronavirus.
Some 126 Ghanaians who were studying various programs in Russia arrived in the country on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at the Kotoko International Airport.
The President of the NUGS in Russia, Roland Abiti Addo confirmed the report in an interview on Campus Exclusive monitored by GeorgeWeb
According to him, test results of some Ghanaian students came out positive with traces of the COVID-19 strains in their fluid samples. He, however, could not give the exact number of students who had tested positive for the novel coronavirus that has claimed at least 239 lives as of August 18, 2020.
Those with positive results have been taken to isolation centres for coronavirus immediate treatment.
Meanwhile, information gathered by UniversNews indicates that some of the students, including 12 from the University of Ghana (UG) are awaiting their results as they had their samples taken on Monday, August 17, 2020.
