Ghanaian companies are also beneficiaries of Free SHS – Free SHS Secretariat
Apart from qualified Ghanaian students who are main beneficiaries of the Free SHS, some Ghanaian companies have been given lifelines through the policy, the Free Senior High School Secretariat has disclosed.
The Secretariat in a Facebook post sighted by Georgeweb.org said the benefits derived from the implementation of the Free SHS policy are not limited to equitable access to quality education alone.
It added that here are several Ghanaian companies that have been given lifelines through the implementation of this policy.
The Free SHS Secretariat mentioned Akosombo Textiles Limited (ATL) as one of the numerous beneficiaries of the Free SHS programme.
It explained that some Ghanaian companies have benefited immensely from the Free SHS policy through a conscious decision by the Akufo-Addo administration to strengthen existing companies whiles building new ones.
The Akufo-Addo led government in September 2017 implemented the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy for every child in Ghana who qualifies for and is placed in a public Senior High School to have his or her secondary education for free.
