EC to announce additional days for SHS voter registration exercise
According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Electoral Commission (EC) has agreed to add additional days to the voter registration exercise in various Senior High Schools which ended successfully on July 11, 2020, in all SHSs across the country.
The Education Service in a memo sighted by Georgeweb.org said the extension of days is to ensure all eligible and qualified voters in Senior High Schools (SHSs) who were unable to register within the two day period are duly registered.
The Commission’s exercise will be conducted in all Senior High Schools that do not have polling stations (registration centers) within the schools.
According to the EC, all eligible and qualified Senior High School Students who are 18 years and above can participate in the voter’s exercise with either a National Identity Card (Ghana Card) or a Ghana Passport.
In absence of these two documents eligible students can use two guarantors who have already registered as voters to guarantee.
