I’ve put together experts to procure COVID-19 vaccines in Ghana – Akufo-Addo

The President Akufo-Addo following reports of COVID-19 vaccines believed to fight against the novel virus has said a team of experts are working tirelessly towards it procurement and deployment of in the country.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo giving his 20th televised address to the nation on Sunday, December 21 said: “I have put together a team of experts, from the relevant institutions and agencies, who are working assiduously towards the procurement and deployment of the vaccines in Ghana”.
His Excellency’s new move in the country’s fight against the deadly virus comes after the United States Food and Drugs Administration (FD) announced it has as a matter of urgency approved some COVID-19 vaccines.
Speaking in his address, Akufo-Addo assured that Ghana is not going to be left behind in having access to the vaccines adding that “I am aware of the anxieties relating to the safety and efficacy of newly-developed vaccines”
“Government will ensure that the COVID-19 vaccines to be deployed in the country are effective and are safe”, he stated.

He furthered that the Ministry of Information at a later briefing will update the nation more on matters related to the COVID-19 vaccines.
