According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the locally transmitted coronavirus (COVID-19) which has spread throughout the world causing a pandemic has killed at least 199 persons in the Republic of Ghana.
Real-time updates gathered by GeorgeWeb from the Health Service website indicates the country has 39,075 confirmed cases with 35,563 recoveries and 199 deaths.
Currently, new cases of the novel coronavirus recorded as of August 5, 2020 are 574, increasing the country’s actives cases to 3,313.
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) coronavirus cumulative cases per region shows that Greater Accra Region is the country’s COVID-19 leader, the capital of Ghana has 20,080 reported cases of the killer disease followed by Ashanti Region with 9,588 and North East Region with the least cases.
As the cases keep skyrocketing, the Government of Ghana (GoG) continues to urge the citizenry to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 preventive protocols including wearing a face mask, use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer and regular handwashing with soap under running water among others.
