2020 Christmas: Gov’t declares Dec 25 to Jan 1, 2021, public holidays

The Government following the celebration of this year’s Christmas has declared Friday, December 25, 2020, Monday, December 28, 2020, and Friday, January 1, 2021, as Public Holidays, the Interior Ministry has said.
The Ministry in a blogpost sighted by Georgeweb.org on its website said Friday, December 25 and Friday, January 1, 2021, which mark Christmas Day and New Year Day respectively are statutory public holidays.
“The public is also hereby notified that Saturday, 26th December 2020 marks ‘Boxing Day’ which is a Statutory Public Holiday”, it stated.
It added that “President Akufo-Addo by an Executive Instrument (E.I), and in accordance with section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2001 (601) has declared Monday, 28th December 2020 as an additional holiday”

The Government of Ghana (GoG) by this arrangement consequently entreats the good people of Ghana to observed the holidays as such throughout the country.
