COVID-19: Almost all Education Ministry staff positive – NAPO reveals

The Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has disclosed that over 90 percent of Education Ministry staff have tested positive for the novel coronavirus that has killed 129 people in the country.
The Education Minister speaking to Kwame Sefa Kayi in an interview monitored by Georgeweb.org said that mass testing was conducted at the ministry when he tested positive for the virus.
According to NAPO, results from the testing indicated that almost all staff of the Ministry had contracted the virus with the majority of them being asymptomatic.
“After my second result came out as positive, testing was conducted on all staff at the Ministry, so assuming that I have 50 staff, 45 were positive for the virus. Most of them are asymptomatic so they are isolating at home,” the minister disclosed.
He continued that “For all the 52 years in his life, he had never been admitted to the hospital for even 2 days before but amid the COVID-19 I was admitted for 2 weeks and was not a pleasant experience”
The Education Minister admitted that coronavirus (COVID-19) is real and he wouldn’t wish it on even his enemy.

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh in his experienced urged the citizenry to strictly adhere to the various safety protocols recommended by the Ghana Health Service and other Health experts.
