The President Akufo-Addo will tonight January 3, 2021, address the country on measures to slow the spread of the virus and also announce the outcome of his meeting with the Cabinet concerning this year’s school reopening.
This comes after he directed for the closure of all schools on March 14, 2020, amid the outbreak of the locally transmitted coronavirus that according to the Ghana Health Service has claimed 335 lives of today.
Prior to His Excellency’s announcement on the reopening of schools, a stakeholder in the education sector has told Educationweb.com.gh that schools will reopen on mid-January, probably 19th of this month 2021.
According to the Health Service, Ghana has as of the time writing this post recorded 55,064 coronavirus cases with 53,828 recoveries and 3335 sudden deaths. The nation’s new cases are 134 with 901 active cases.
