The President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo has commissioned two 450-bed dormitories in two Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region as part of efforts to phase out the double-track system in some schools.
The beneficiary schools are Asare Bediako SHS and T.I Ahmadiyah SHS in the Fomena Constituency in Greater Kumasi.
The Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh in a short address said the commissioning of the dormitories is in a bid to increase access to Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the country.
According to him, the NPP government, if given another 4-year tenure will continue to ensure that every candidate who passes BECE has access to SHS education irrespective of their socio-economic background.
The Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency consequently urged Ghanaians to vote for His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the upcoming December general elections.
