Some 7 out of the 55 students who tested positive for locally transmitted coronavirus in Accra Girls Senior High School (SHS) have reportedly recovered from the virus and consequently been discharged.
A joint statement released some two weeks ago by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and copied to Georgeweb.org confirmed that at least six students of the Accra Girls Senior High School had tested positive for COVID-19.
The Service later announced that a teacher and wife also in the school had also tested positive for the virus.
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) following the confirmed cases conducted a mass testing and discovered that 55 out of the 314 students are COVID-19 positive.
The positive students were thus sent to various coronavirus treatment centres to be attended to.
Currently, media reports indicate that some 7 students of the Accra Girls SHS who tested positive for the virus have been discharged and returned to campus.
