6 female students of the Accra Girls Senior High school have reportedly tested positive for the deadly novel coronavirus that has claimed 122 lives of as June 5, 2020, Citi News has reported
According to information gathered by Georgeweb.org, some students of the school showed symptoms of the novel virus and were isolated in the school’s sickbay on Monday, June 29, 2020.
It is reported that Health officials from the Ayawaso East Health directorate were called to assist in the issue.
The Health experts subsequently run COVID-19 tests on 11 students of which 6 students tested positive and were on Saturday, July 4 transferred to the Ga East Municipal Hospital for treatment.
President Akufo-Addo in one of his numerous nation’s addresses announced for schools to reopen for final year students on June 22 to enable them to continue the 2019/2020 academic year and prepare to sit for their final year examination.
His Excellency Akufo-Addo said the reopening of school for final year students forms part of measures to ease coronavirus restrictions which led to the closure of schools since March 16 this year.
