The Management of the Adiembra Senior High School in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly has reportedly sacked some 120 students for breaching various coronavirus protocols outlined by the Ministry of Education.
Report indicates that the students, all males left the school campus without seeking permission from any staff.
The management of Adiembra SHS said that the action of the students goes against the COVID-19 protocols put in place to ensure the safety of students, teaching and non-teaching staff from the global pandemic that has claimed at least 112 persons.
However, the confused students explaining the incident to Adom News Lord Tawia alleged that since school reopened on Monday, June 22, they have not had access to portable water, consequently the decision to fetch some at a standing pipe located a few metres from campus.
The male students alleged that only the female students are being allowed to go outside the campus for water and other necessities, adding that its the reason why no female student was sacked.
They further accused the management of Adiembra Senior High School of containing about 60 students in one dormitory in contrary to President Akufo-Addo’s directive.
The dismissed students standing on the street with their belongings urges government officials and interested parties to visit the school claiming that all the safety measures put in place to slow the spread of the novel virus are all being breached and ignored by school authorities and teachers.
According to them, the recommended regular handwashing with soap under running water is not effective in the school amid lack of water.
