Jack Whitehall Biography

Jack White was born at Portland Hospital in London’s West End on 7 July 1988 to actress Hilary Amanda Jane Whitehall and television producer Michael John Whitehall. His lineage can be traced to Welsh lawyer Thomas Phillips, who was a major opponent of the Newport Rising of 1839. His father was the agent for Judi Dench, Colin Firth, and Richard Griffiths. He has two godfathers who are also actors.

He had his education at Tower House School in London’s East Sheen area, where he was a classmate of actor Robert Pattinson. He auditioned for the role of Harry Potter but he didn’t get the role because he had not read the book. He was sent to a boarding school at eight. He decided to pursue stand-up comedy when he took a gap year from school. He dropped out of the University of Manchester after two terms.

Career

At the age of nine, Whitehall appeared in the tv series Noah’s Ark in 1997. He did some presenting works in 2008 by presenting the first week of Big Brother’s Big Mouth on E4. Whitehall started stand-up comedy performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the Pleasance Theatre’s Comedy Reserve showcase. He had previously taken a sketch show to the Fringe called Comic Abuse.

He has also voiced the animated character Gothi in Frozen, he also appeared alongside Emily Blunt and Dwanye Johnson in 2021. He was the nominated for British Comedy Awards for Best Comedy Breakthrough.

On 12 March, he set a new Guinness World Records title together with Dara Ó Briain and Jon Richardson, for hosting the ‘Highest stand up comedy gig in the world’, on a British Airways flight in support of Comic Relief

Personal Life

Whitehall dated Gemma Chan in 2011 when she guest-starred on his series Fresh Meat. They broke up in December 2017. He began a relationship with model Roxy Horner. He is a great supporter of Arsenal F.C
