The Management and Staff of the Ghana Education Service held an end of year party at the forecourt GES Council offices to climax the year 2019.
Present at the event was the Chairman of the GES Council, Mr. Michael Nsowah, the Director-General, Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, Deputy Director-General in charge of Management Services, Mr. Anthony Boateng (Esq.) and the Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality and Acess, Mr. Kwabena Tandoh (Ph.D.).
Also in attendance to grace the occasions were Divisional Directors and Unit Heads at the GES Headquarters.
The GES Council Chairman used the opportunity to thank all the staff, from Janitors to the Directors for their hard work and sterling performance in the delivery quality education at the basic and secondary levels.
Earlier, the Deputy Director-General in charge of Management Services who gave the welcome address, told the gathering that this year’s WASSCE results were the best in the West Africa Sub-region to the cheers and applause of staff.
He said this remarkable achievement was the contribution of everybody, both teaching and non-teaching alike and further underscored the need for such an effort to be sustained at all times.
The Director-General on his part thanked all the Management and staff of the service for the unalloyed support to him as the head of the institution. “All the gains and successes we’ve made wouldn’t have been possible without you”. He further encouraged staff to work harder in 2020.
There was enough for everyone to eat and drink and staff members took turns to dance to music from the FIRE SERVICE BAND.
