The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says it has reported the fake versions of the alleged leaked Integrated Science 1 & 2 papers to be administered on Monday, August 3, 2020 to the BNI, CID and National Security.
According to the Council, a scrutiny of the images purporting on various social media platforms indicates once again the handwork of certain individuals which it attributed to rogue website operators.
The WAEC spokesperson in a statement copied to Georgeweb.org said the Council has alerted the various security agencies in the country about the activities of certain individuals mainly operators of rogue websites and WhatsApp groups aimed at leading candidates astray and discrediting the Council.
According to WAEC, it has put in place adequate and necessary measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2020 WASSCE for School candidates scheduled to commence on August 3, 2020.
Meanwhile, the non-profit-making organization urges all candidates to stay focused, continue with their preparation for the examination and adhere to the COVID-19 protocols in order to keep safe during the period.
WAEC appreciating candidates interest shown in this year’s WASSCE for school candidates, admonished its relevant stakeholders to be circumspect in putting out information on the examinations.
In a related story, the Ghana Education Service (GES) in an earlier statement has said the alleged leaked questions papers are fake.
The Service in a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo explained that there is no WASSCE subject written by Ghanaian candidates called General Paper.
The GES spokesperson consequently urges all candidates to disregard claims of leakage of the WASSCE questions and concentrate on preparations towards the upcoming examination scheduled for Monday, August 3, 2020.
