WAEC selected Kingdom Books to print gov’t past questions – Ntim

The Deputy Minister for Education, Ntim Fordjour says the West African Examinations Council last year granted Kingdom Books and Stationery sole permission to publish the past questions for 2020 and 2021 WASSCE candidates.

Giving details on the contract in an interview monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh, Reverend John Fordjour said the printing company was settled on after an assessment of the criteria of what had to be done.

“They (WAEC) engaged among other publishers and kingdom Books was selected by WAEC and granted the sole right to be able to publish past questions and examination reports,” the Deputy Education Minister said.

The published past question and answer booklets from the Kingdom Books and Stationery the Assin South Member of Parliament said does not only contain past questions but has other informative content.

“So it is not just past questions that were compiled, it is past questions and how it was answered, the lapses, critical areas to look at, the detailed examiners report on all the core subjects which were compiled.” Rev John stated.

But, commenting on the matter, the Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Mr Kofi Asare said the non-profit-making organization cannot choose an entity to produce former questions procured by the government.

“WAEC cannot select Kingdom books, the procurement entity in this arrangement is the Ministry of Education. So the procurement entity arrangement is the ministry of Education, no one should bring in WAEC here,” Kofi stated.
