UTAG Calls Off Strike After NLC Lawsuit Withdrawal.
The University Teachers Association of Ghana have suspended their nationwide strike which started on August 2, 2020.
This was confirmed by the President of the association to Joy News in an interview.
The president said the union called off the strike after the National Labour Commission withdrew the lawsuit against them in court earlier today.
“If you look at the document we signed with government, there was processes to withdraw all cases against UTAG, and UTAG has also taken steps to withdraw the strike,” Prof. Charles Marfo said.
“It is necessary that the people whose mandate we used are approached; we need to respectfully inform them of the document we have signed; I believe they will sanction that”, he added.
He expressed hope that members of the association will comply with the directive and return to school to carry out their duties.
