Ursula wishes 1,085 students best of luck in mock examination
Ghana’s Minister of Communications, Hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has wished the over 1,085 2020 BECE candidates in her constituency the best of luck as they sit for her sponsored mock examination in preparation towards BECE.
The prospective JHS 3 students across the Ablekuma West Constituency Monday, August 17, 2020, commenced the mock examination which is expected to end successfully on Friday, August 21, 2020.
The Minister in a Facebook post sighted by Georgeweb.org commended President Akufo-Addo for his efforts to ensure adequate preparation for the students as they sit for their final examination scheduled for September 14, 2020, in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The Ablekuma West Member of Parliament following His Excellency Akufo-Addo’s provision of hot meals for BECE candidates in both public and private Junior High schools (JHSs) across the country said her outfit would also do their part in support of the initiative.
Akufo-Addo in his 15th televised nation’s address instructed the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MOGCSP) to begin preparations to give final year JHS students and staff hot meals each day from August 24, 2020, until the end of BECE on September 18, 2020.
The President said the timely intervention follows reports that some final year JHS students were going hungry in complying with the COVID-19 safety protocols, hence the move to feed them at least once a day to ensure they fully observe the necessary protocols.
“We wish all of our finalists the best of luck in this preparatory exams and are confident that they will make the best of the opportunity” Ursula noted.
