The Zoomlion Ghana Limited in line with President Akufo-Addo’s directive on disinfection and fumigation of all tertiary institutions before the resumption of academic activities has disinfected the premises and facilities of the University for Development Studies, Nyankpala and City Campus.
According to Mr. Peter Dawuni, Regional Manager of the Northern Region Zoomlion Ghana Limited, the disinfection exercise would be extended to the Upper West and Upper East Campuses.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor of UDS, Ing. Prof. Felix K. Abagale reacting to the briefing by Mr. Peter Dawuni commended the waste management giant for its recent corporate Social Responsibility gesture towards a free at the University for Development Studies.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude about the swift mobilization of resources by Zoomlion to disinfect his school amidst the tall list of schools to be disinfected.
Assuring students of UDS a safer academic environment, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor touched on some efforts being made by management to augment the ongoing disinfection exercise by providing each lecture hall and hall of residence alcohol-based hand sanitizers, hand washing facilities among others. He also revealed that the government of Ghana is giving each student three reusable face masks in support of the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

Bringing his address to a close, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of UDS; Ing. Prof. admonished the general public and students of University for Development Studies to strictly adhere to the safety measures and COVID-19 protocols so the disease can be brought under control.
