UG reportedly increases fees for 2020/2021 academic year

The Management of the University of Ghana (UG) has reportedly increased the tuition fees to be paid by prospective students for the 2020/2021 academic year, Univers News has reported.
Comparing the new increment to the 2019/2020 academic year fee schedule, there has been a marginal increment of at least 12.3 per cent.
For some universities in the country, the fees have been increased as much as 12.56 per cent with the least being 12.27 per cent.
For students in the sciences, they would observe a 12.50 per cent increment. This shows an increase of 211 Ghana Cedis bringing the new fees to 1899 Ghana Cedis from the previous 1688 Ghana Cedis for continuing students only.
At the school of Agriculture, for continuing students the fees moved from GHC 1751.00 in 2019 to GHC 1971.00. This showed an increment of 12.56 per cent was observed from the previous fees.

The University of Ghana and Ghana Institute of Journalism is among few other tertiary institutions to have announced an increment of school fees for the 2020/2021 academic year.
