The University of Ghana, Legon per the double-track academic calendar has said freshers and final year students will spend 9 weeks in school whilst level 200 and 300 reports to school between April and June this year.
A staff of the University in an interview with the Daily Graphic said the Management of Legon has scheduled to commence academic activities on January 18, 2021, for newly admitted students and final year students.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor in charge of students and academic affairs, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, however, said teaching activities will end for these students on Friday, February 26, 2021, after which there will be a two-week period for the main first-semester examination.
She furthered that the first semester for the level 100s and 400s will end on Sunday, March 21, 2021, adding that “these batch of students are expected to report between Thursday, June 17, and Sunday, June 20, 2021, to commence their second semester of the academic year”
“First-semester teaching activities for level 200 and 300 students will start on Monday, April 5, 2021, after a disinfection exercise has been undertaken on the campus”, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo told the Newspaper.
According to her, “undergraduate students are going to spend a total of nine weeks on campus, thus six weeks of lessons, teaching, a week of revision, and two weeks of examination.”
“We run a course credit system and so it is about contact hours so what this means is that contact hours per week will be increased”, she added.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor in charge of students and academic affairs noted that all students will be on campus when the locally transmitted coronavirus situation is restored to normalcy.
