UEW to admit over 70,000 students for 2020/2021 academic year

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) will be admitting over 70,000 fresh students, including the first batch of the Free SHS beneficiaries for the 2020/2021 academic year, Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has disclosed.

The Vice-Chancellor of Univerity of Education (UEW) speaking to journalist said his outfit is putting necessary arrangements in place to welcome the estimated number of students for the 2020/2021 academic year.

“UEW is going to admit about 70,000 students. It may even be more, but as far as facilities are concerned, we are purchasing new services and improving our equipments”.

Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni furthered the university has decided to employ more teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure smooth academic activities in the next academic year.

“We are doing well to employ more competent IT people, even lecturers, and administrators to support the delivery of a very effective and robust academic programme for our university,” Prof Afful said.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, over 52,000 applications from applicants seeking admission into the University for the 2020/2021 academic year has so far been received by the management.
