Tweneboa Kodua SHS teachers in ‘trouble’ over alleged extortion

The non-profit-making organization responsible for the conduct of the ongoing WASSCE says Security Agencies are investigating claims that some teachers at Tweneboa Kodua SHS allegedly took money from students with a promise to help them during the conduct of their final examination.
The Ashanti Regional Branch Controller of WAEC, Divine Abgenyo in an interview with Luv FM’s David Akuatteh monitored by GeorgeWeb said the police and the Bureau of Investigations are investigating the allegations.
Prospective candidates of the Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School (SHS) on Monday August 3, 2020 after writing the theory aspect of the Integrated Science vandalised the school’s properties over strict invigilation, an act they believe is to make them score F9 and fail the national examination.
The final year students following this unfriendly treatment demanded the immediate removal of their headmaster, adding that Francis Awuah has been manhandling some students and teachers during the exam.
The candidates have also admitted that they had the WASSCE Integrated Science question paper some hours before the start of the examination.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Professor Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa has condemned the act of violence. The Service in a statement said candidates misconduct in the examination hall could lead to cancellation of their subject results.
