The Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Pre-tertiary, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum says the Kumasi-based Islamic Senior High School popularly known as ISSEC is the country’s current largest Senior High School.
ISSEC is a mixed school established in 1967 is among the recognized schools (SHSs) in Ashanti-Region. It is located at Abrepo, a suburb of the Kumasi Metropolis.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum disclosed this speaking in an interview with the Kumasi-based Wontumi 101.3 FM monitored by Georgeweb.org.
The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament noted the Abrepo-based Islamic School (ISSEC) currently has over 5,000 students making it Ghana’s largest.
“The Islamic Senior High School is the largest SHS in Ghana, the whole country, it has over 5,000 students. ISSEC is largest SHS in Ghana”, The Deputy Minister of Education told host Oheneba Nana Asiedu.
