The Finance Ministry will not deduct any taxes from the professional development allowances which will be paid to professional and non-professional teachers November ending, the Education Minister has said.
According to Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Ministry of Finance has been directed by the Ministry of Education under the auspices of the Government of Ghana (GoG) not to deduct any taxes from the teachers allowances.
“We have spoken to the Finance Ministry and no taxes will be deducted from the allowances so if you go to the bank and there is tax deduction alert us for refund,’’ NAPO said at a meeting with educational workers yesterday.
