Sekondi College PTA Chair begs Akufo-Addo on behalf of students
Following the dismissal and barring of some final year students for their indiscipline act in the ongoing WASSCE, the PTA chairman of Sekondi College (Sekco), has rendered an unqualified apology to President Akufo-Addo on behalf of the 4 punished students of the school.
The Ghana Education Education (GES) in a statement dated August 7, 2020 announced the dismissal and barring of some 14 final year SHS students from partaking the national examination due to their misconduct.
In a viral video sighted by GeorgeWeb, some students of the Sekondi College rained insult on the President of the Republic, daring him to dash them some marks or else……, they added in the video that “You Akufo-Addo, you are also in your final year”.
Others in a protest against school authorities vandalise school property and assaulted examination officials for strict invigilation, an act they believe is to make them score F9 and fail the test after their 3 years of education.
So far, students of the Ashanti-Region based Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School and Juaben Senior High School, as well as their mates at Ndewura Jakpa Senior High Technical School in the Savanna Region, engaged in riots.
Reacting to the development on Omanba-pa show on Connect FM, the Western Regional PTA Chairman apologized to His Excellency through the Western Regional Minister, Kobby Otchere-Darko Mensah and condemned such act.
Mr Isaac Cobbinah said an agreement reached by the stakeholders in the settlement of this incident include rendering an apology to the President, recalling the student to write their exams while investigations go on.
