School Certification and Licensing Policy: What we know

The National Inspectorate Board (NIB) an agency under the auspices of the Ministry of Education (MoE) has hinted of a School Certification and Licensing Policy (SCaLP) aimed to ensure quality education in Ghana.

It following the Licensing Policy has hosted representatives of the Education Partnerships Group – UK to kick-off the development of the School Certification and Licensing Policy (SCaLP).

Georeweb.org understands, the policy will provide a legal basis for standardizing the certification and licensing of all Pre-Tertiary Educational Institutions and ensure that schools in Ghana meet the standard for operating.

According to the Board, the policy flows into school inspection as it will inform what NIB’s inspectors look out for when inspecting a school facility and contribute towards the improvement of teaching and learning outcomes.
