The Public Relations Officer for the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Major Kofi Baah, says the reports of robbery attack on the university campus was a pranked an unknown person used social media to spread the false story.
The media earlier Tuesday, October 13, 2020, reported that armed robbers Monday night attacked some students of the University of Cape Coast on campus and reportedly stabbed two students to death.
But, the spokesperson for the University in an interview with the Accra-based Kasapa 102.5 FM monitored by Georgeweb.org debunked the reports saying that nothing of such an incident has happened on the campus.
According to him, it was just a prank that someone used social media to spread, adding that “our investigations show that no armed robbers were on campus, no student has been injured or robbed of their belonging”.
“It’s an outright fabrication and the public must disregard this rumour. The students are safe, we have adequate security protection for them,” he urged
